National Public Lands Day

Across the country, we celebrated NPLD's 30 Years of Care and Community for our public lands. From humble beginnings with one federal agency, two sites, and 700 volunteers, NPLD has grown into the largest single-day volunteer event for public lands. This year, we will travel to some popular water recreation destinations to cleanup trash and enjoy natures beautiful water slides and waterfalls.

All equipment will be issued to volunteers and lunch is provided. Please dress according to the days weather and wear shoes for outdoor terrain. A hat, sunscreen and backpack is always recommended. Please click the link to register.

KERN RIVER PACKOUT & PINT NIGHT

Join the California Chapter of BHA for a public land packout followed by a pint night along the Kern River in Central California.

The Kern River is a popular destination for fishing, camping, rafting and gets heavy use around Labor Day weekend when the weather is warm. If there is still enough water flowing we will be rafting down the river while picking up trash along the way. If not, we will head to some heavily impacted areas near waterfalls and popular swimming holes to clean up after holiday weekend crowds.

After the cleanup, we will head to the Kern River Brewery for a pint night presented by OnX. We will be giving away 10 memberships to Onx at the pint night!
